TOP 5 REASON KRISTIN BUCKLEY IS WEIRD
TOP FIVE REASONS KRISTIN BUCKLEY IS WEIRD
1. EDWARD- Kristin has now been obsessed with her lethargic, fat, orange, long lost cat for 4 years. She is convinced Edward now works at Starbucks and secretly comes to visit her.
2. MEOW- Kristin insists on meowing every time she gets on the phone with any family member. She has about 26 different meows.
3. BUSCHKY- Somewhere Kristin came up with this crazy word and now uses it as a verb, noun and adjective. EX: Chasey please quit buschkin around. EX 2: Jackie has just been one big buschky all day! Buschky is now used in over 8 different states daily as a common word in the English language.
4. BEEFIES-Kristin always tries to eat Beefaronis for breakfast. She will scream at me if I won’t make them for her. She rationalizes that she needs to pump up her carbs to get a head start on the day.
5. FAIRIES-Kristin keeps a collection of over 200 fairies in her house at all times which stare at you when you go down the hall to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Meet "AXEL"
The Sixty-Six Sicks is a very competitive group of individuals. Every month we hold a sales contest for our Top Assistant Managers. We rank their overall volume, productivity, DPT, UPT and of course store ranking. At the end of every month we recognize the Assitant Manager Of the Period (AMOP) with some loot, bragging rights and of course.... AXEL.

Salty-Spud Saturday...
Meet Q (from Boise) and the self proclaimed "Ladies Man". I think his shirt says it all! Homedude is getting ready to start the 8th grade on Monday. He told me and Q that he needed some fresh threads so he could make nice with the cute girls in his grade. When we asked him what his favorite pick up line was he quickly responded with...
"You have the most beautiful eyes ever... I get lost staring at them."
Don't worry, my man Q hooked little man up. With pick-up lines like that, and new gear from Q I am sure kid will be sporting a lady on each arm before third period.

FLASHBACK FRIDAY
This September marks my ninth year with Zumiez. I can't believe it has already been 9 years with the greatest action sports retailer in the world! I still remember my very first day. DeeAnn Roundy was the SM at Ogden, Justin Walker was scheduled for his first day as a sales person and I was being trained to manage the soon-to-be opened Zumiez in the Layton Hills Mall. Funny really, but that day we had a future RM and 2 future DM's working together to sell as much as we could to as many people as we could.
I am certain we made day!
Thats just how we roll!!
I was so nervous to start working. Lets be real, I was a young nineteen year old kid with virtually no experience. I had been hired on as the SM because I was a great sales person, I was a hard worker, and I wouldn't take "no" for an answer. I rolled into work with an Ezekiel shirt I stole from my brother, a pair of Freeworld cargo pants and a pair of Tony Hawk skate shoes. At this point in time I used frost and glow to bleach my tips and I had hoop earrings - I was a lady killer and then some.
Back in the day we didn't have any deals like 5/$85 or even 2/$25. We didn't have EDC chapters, the infosite, or Single Focus Visits. We didn't have fancy floor moves, merchandising techniques, snow flyers or shoe self talkers. What we had was a raw ability to sell and to be a retailer.
Little did I realize just how great I would be for Zumiez - and Zumiez would be for me! Not many people can honestly say the love what they do... for the past nine years I have been one of those lucky few.

My air is fresher than yours
Being a District Manager is a pretty sweet gig. I get to bounce from store to store working with the raddest people this side of the equator (the other side of the equator obviously has some pretty rad cats), I get to meet all the sick Zumiez customers throughout my district and I get to see some pretty amazing sites. Check out the picture above - this is the cream of the crop in terms of viewing pleasure when driving to Idaho. I know, I know.... what a lucky guy.
Well, wish me luck - off to Boise to work with Bucknasty and the hoodrats up there! Stop in and say hi!

Reflections of a Duschanador 1
I spend a lot of time in my car going to and from work. It is a 2001 white mercury sable. Some people call it BIG Nilla some cal is White Lightning, But it's best knwon as "the Merc." Sometimes I think "man I wish I had a brand new car," but then I realize what I have been through with the merc and how great of a car it is. One time about two years ago, Jen and I were partying at my house in Pullman. I fell asleep early like usual becuase I had to work the next day. In the morning Jen came and said "jackie I have something to tell you.....it's about your car......somthing happened to it last night." So I was sitting there thinking it had got broken into started crying and was pissed because I knew I couldn't afford to get it fixed. Then Jen continued "There was a fight next door...and Mo (short for Mohammad) got really mad and threw the charcoal BBQ over the fence and it landed on the merc." At this point I was thinking my windsheild was busted, there was a BBQ in my car, I wanted to kill Mo. Anyways I went outside and the side mirror was broken off and there were lots of scratches and charcoal on my car. I told Mo I would call the cops on him so he fixed it. I still called the cops. It was in the police blotter as "north maple street bbq thrown at car one suspect"
To be continued.........

Thoughtful Thursday
Well, its Thursday - so here are my thoughts...
While it may seem obvious to me, I must make a public announcement to... well... the public about just how proud I am of everything my team has accomplished. You know, we pride ourselves on working hard and giving back and that is exactly what this team has done all year long. As Buckley would say "from the great grandparents to the great grand babies" this team has worked harder than ever and given back like never before!
Thank you all...

Also...
Spinner rims are dope, but rims that never spin would be more dope! If and when (trust me, someone will steal my idea and make a million dollars) someone steals my idea and makes million dollars, all I demand is my share of the deal. I think this is fair.

The Family
I, Kristin Buckley, thought that I would start my blog to give background to "The Family".
Most of the 666 knows how this family tree began, but for those new people and people who may not know the whole story...this is for you.
I started working for Zumiez 8 years ago, and have promoted other store managers, but "the fam" that I speak of happens to be the specific family that resides in the 666. In 2006 Jennifer Martin was my 1st assistant in Billings Montana, she took 2nd place at that years AMC which sky rocketed her chances at becoming a store manager. Two months later, she found herself to be the lucky manager of an awesome store in the beautiful town of Moscow Idaho.
We joked about Jen being "birthed" at that time. Who knew that it would become such a huge and meaningful thing to us?
While in the lovely town of Moscow, Jennifer was able to give birth herself to Jackie Duscha. At this point in time, I had moved to Seattle and we were seperated. I wasn't able to witness the birth of my granddaughter, or what came next.
Jackie took over Pocatello Idaho, and before we knew it, she was all grown up herself and had two children of her own. She gave birth to Chase in Pocatello and stayed in the small town to watch her boy grow, but moved on to working at Idaho Falls. Once in IF, she quickly gave birth to her second, Mattie J.
As of the summer of 2009, every member of the fam is currrently a store manager in the 666. We are all very close, we wrote a rap about our family ties, and are going to be designing a family chrest to all get tattooed on.
We want all the members of 666 to be as close as we are! So this is why I am so stoked about this blog! I hope it is an opportunity for everyone to get to know each other better and help each other out. Advise and stories are needed!
